Conemtech's mission is to establish itself as premier developer and supplier of optimized ASSP solutions in selected high volume products worldwide by using its flexible semiconductor platform and a set of optimized software layers for connected embedded controllers.
Our first objective is to become the leading vendor of cost and power efficient Packet Based Time and Frequency Synchronization components.
Conemtech has selected a business model which includes not only the
semiconductor component and possibly some platform software, but also
application software and in addition to offer board level processor
modules and OEM products. In an emerging market with new technologies
like the IEEE1588 the market is believed to be best served by such a
“plug-and-play” or "shrink-wrapped" offering.
The customer development costs for the first
prototypes and evaluations are removed by the easy-to-use credit card
sized Ethernet interface system boards delivered with connectors, cables and
all. As production volumes increase a connector mounted processor
modules integrates the same functionality and can be used in the 1000’
quantities. For main volume a small 29x29 mm surface mounted system
device, or the integrated circuit is used.
Products and Applications
The Conemtech products are based on a proprietary architecture for an efficient microprocessor developed by another Swedish company, Imsys Technologies AB, acquired in 2009. Compared to standard cores it offers an unprecedented efficiency due to its built in architectural flexibility enabling a tailored solution for a specific application.
This technology is now applied on the Time and Frequency synchronization in Ethernet networks. In this application the products close integration of hardware and software results in world leading low-cost, footprint and power consumption for required accuracy of time and frequency into high volume products.
The sub-systems can be customized (programmed) by the customer for the
unique, individual applications - for example, femtocell applications
requiring a local user interface, a secure remote client with a display
in an operator network or simply an analog sensing application like
temperature, or a more advances information like location acquired from a local GPS.
IEEE1588 is the primary application technology from the start for
Conemtech as this is where first market investments have been made since
2006 and where the current products have gained industry recognition.
Our products are distinct in that they are small sized, use the silicon efficiently and thereby can offer outstanding low total cost as the manufacturing cost is low. This opens up for consumer applications. The microcoding technology enables us to convert the functions consisting of computational intensive algorithms into microcoded logic and accelerate them in software as opposed to making expensive hardware logic. Products are now available with timestamp engines and loop controllers for packet based timing in complex networks.
